THE SPRING MEETING NOMINATIONS TO-NIGHT The Wanganui Jockey Club will offer stake money aggregating £1720 at its spring fixture on September J2 and 14, the larger portion being for the second day when, an eight-race card twill be presented as compared with seven events on the Thursday, when the totaiisator will not be operated for the Two-year-old Parade. The youngsters will sport silk on the Saturday, while rhe Wanganui Guineas, which is contested over a mile, will also figure on the programme, which is a well varied one. Owners ami trainers are reminded that nominations for ail events at the meeting will close to-night at S o’clock. REPORTED AMISS RED MANFRED AT MELBOURNE It is reported from Melbourne that the Wanganui-owned Red Manfred suffered a mishap shortly after arriving there fre-nx New Zealand.
