CARD EVENING. The fifth of a series of card evenings to assist the Bandon school funds was held in the Town Hall the other evening. There was a good attendance, the prizes for the evening being won by the- following: Euchre, Mrs. E. Wilcoek, 0. Oppatt, ftjiss 11. Bo water and Mr. R. Signal. ■Ofibbage, Mr. C. P. Good. The chairman of tho school coin mittee, Mr. E. J. Bo war er, in rein ruing thanks, stated that although the card evenings were held for the purpose of raising funds for a library at the school, it had been noticed that very few of those attending the evenings were parents. This fact Mr. Bawater said was regrettable but he said the committee were pleased with the large number that attended each evening and thanked them for theif support. Mr. Bowater further stated that the committee desired to publicly thank .Mrs. C. C. Lawrence and Mrs. S. G. Scandlyn for cash donations. GENERAL. Congratulations are extended to Charlie Nicholson on his selection to play in the Manawatu School representative Rugby team. Miss Leila Lumsden, of Sanson, has been selected to play for the Mana* watu basketball representative team. Rex Harris, who plays for the

Feilding Old Boys’ first fifteen, has gained representative honours in the Manawatu Rugby team.
