Apparently caused by a stoppage in the vicinity of Marr's property, William Street was under water last evening, the properties of Afcssrs. A. C. AL Siccly and T. E. Barton also being immersed. Pedestrians were given good warning, however, by a light being thoughtfully left on Mr. Barton’s porch. The water flowed across to the rear of Mr. .1. Wales’ house, and flooded some of the rooms, and also suri rounded Air. E. Rivers’ home 1o ft (depth of some inches. Por half an hour ‘there was quite a small river down the northern side of High Street, where the waters found their exit. The park was a sea of water for some time, and there was a stream trickling across the road al the Follett Si reel gate, but, as the rain ceased the wells were able Io cope with the drainage, and the water soon disappeared. Il wag over two feet deep at the rear of Messrs. Cobham's workshop. MARTON RAINFALL.
