PALAIS DE DANSE

To enjoy the pleasure of dancing to the full requires conditions of the very best and the name Palais de Danse has become synonymous with fun, music, lights, decorations and everything that goes to make happiness. A no more fitting rendezvous can be chosen than the Druids’ Hall for it has become the mecca of terpsichorian devotees and the brilliantly illuminated hall is always taxed to its limit to accomodate the large number of patrons. On Saturday night another highly successful function was brought to a happy termination at the midnight hour by the Palais de Danse. Monte Carlos have a lure all their own and seldom are patrons able io resist the urge to court Dame Fortune for her favours, which competition always proves very popular. Selected for honours were: Miss D. Garth and Mr. Uhadficld, Miss Muirhead and Mr. Benefield, Miss Mooney and Mr. Cairncross. Miss Oliver and Mr. Price carried off the fox trot special. The lucky recipients received the applause of those less fortunate. Music, as played by the renowned Palais Dance Band, was of the highest standard and refusals for encores were necessary in order for the evening’s programme to proceed, so many were the demands made. Coloured lights, and myriad hued streamers added to the gay spectacle and a specially-selected programme of numbers was indulged in. A delightfully served supper reflected credit upon those responsible for its dispensation. Mr. Bert Gilroy, as usual, fulfilled the duties of M.C. in bis inimitable manner. ; PLUNKET PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION PROGRESS OF VOTING.
