BROKEN PROMISES (DEATH SENTENCE FOIt ONE BERLIN. Aug. 5. One of the first •Communists arrested when the Nazis took over the Government was Albert Kayser, exReichstag Deputy. He spent nearly a year in a concentration camp and was released after undertaking to refrain from political activity. He broke his word and participated in the reorganisation of thc old Communist Party in Central Germany and has now been sentenced to death by the People’s Court for high treason. Four others were sentenced to terms of penal servitude, including Aru Minnaharm, and 29 were sentenced to fifteen years. FOREIGN PRESS GERMANY’S WARNINGS CORRESPONDENT EXPELLED BERLIN, Aug. 5. Following Dr. Goebbels’ fierce attack on the foreign Press at Essen a number of correspondents were summoned to the Ministry of Propaganda and warned not to send unfavourable reports. Dr. Klein, correspondent for a Bassie newspaper, was recently expelled and further expulsions are being considered. COAL FOR COTTON BARTER BY GERMANY Received Aug. e, 11.5 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 6. Tho Daily Telegraph’s Berlin correspondent says that Germany is bartering 70,000 tons of Ruhr coal fur Hudan cotton.
