APPLE PRICES DECLINE
SOFT FRUITS PLENTIFUL LONDON, Aug. 3. Apple prices have declined slightly, as piums, cherries, and gooseberries arc plentiful. But the apple season will close with satisfactory results for all concerned. With regard to the coming year cue of the leading firms of imorters says; “We can only hope that shipments will be controlled in future so tual arrivals here do not exceed 4,SUU,CUO cases. With that quantity evenly distributed to arrive regularly at differ ent United Kingdom ports there is no reason why Australian and New Zea land apple business should not continue to be profitable.” x LONDON, Aug. 3. Apples: New Zealand, ex Rangitata and Wairangi, Sturniers, Ils 3d to 13s a case; DougJicrty, Us to 14s 9d. Australian, ISturmers, 13s to 14s a case; Granny Smith, 17s to 18s; Dougherty 14s to 15s. The High Commissioner, Loudon, August 3, cables:—Apples in moderate demand as follows: —Dougherty, Ils to 15s Gd; Rokcwood, 10s to 13s Gd; Sturmer, Rome Beauty, and Statesman, IDs to 13 s.
