PRICES IN ENGLAND C AN ADA 'S PROTEST LONDON, Aug. 2. The 'l’inies says that Mr G. H. Ferguson (Canadian Conimissioner) has protested to the President of the Board of Trade (Hon. W. Runcinitin; against the new schedule of prices of Russian timber imported into Britain, which Canada considers frustrates Article 21 of the Ottawa agreement. The Canadians claim that the Soviet \vsteni of rebates and credits is tantamount to an attempt to force sales on the overstocked market and foi»ce priucr. down, with the result that other countries will be unable to ship to Britain except at prices seriously below the cost of production.
