A MOST SUCCESSFUL YEAR ANNUAL MEETING HELD. That the season had been a most successful one was revealed at the annual meeting of the Egmont Racing Club held on Tuesday night, when Mr. 8. < . Tqnks presided over an attendance of 49 members. After providing for possible bad debts and writing off £250 as depreciation, the profit on the year’s operations was £455 3s sd, read the annual report. It had been necessary to expend a lair amount in maintaining the buildings, race tracks and course in good order, a policy which was justified if one could judge by the complimentary remarks passed on the appointments by many visiting owners and trainers. The com mittee had made every endeavour tc popularise the meetings and results have justified their efforts. The race meetings held during the year had proved the most successful for some time. Members could assist the com mittee to promote their club's welfare by doing everything possible to interest owners, trainers and the general public in its race meetings. It was with deep regret the deaths were recorded of three members during the year—Mr. M. F Baird, a life member; Mr. R. Hicks, a life member and steward; and Mr. B C. Lvsaght.
