WHEELBARROW “DERBY
LEADING DUNEDIN CITIZENS TAKE PART. TALC.A. FUNDS AUGMENTED. [ Per Press Association. ] DUNEDIN, Aug. 4. A wheelbarrow “Derby” was held yesterday with the object of assisting the funds of the Y.M.C.A. The race started at the railway station and fin ished at the Town Hall, leading citizens, includiLg the Mayor, being wheeled by footballers, runners and other athletes. The winner was H. P. Des Moulins, wheeled by the ex-cham-pion runner J. G. Barnes. A second race was held from Logan Park to the station, competitors on this occasion being confined to local athletes, Barnes again being success i ful
The proceeds from a Mock Court and a “tarpaulin muster” netted £5O.
