REHOUSING IN BRITAIN | British Oflicial Wireless. J Received July 21, 5.5 p.m, RUGBY, July 20. The report of the commissioner for special areas in England and Wales, which contains proposals for assisting the areas which have suffered most severely in the depression, will be debated in the House of Commons on Tuesday on a Labour mot ion. The Leeds City Council has in hand a vast scheme for re-housing city dwellers, ami work shortly will begin on the construction of a big block ot 940 flats to be completed in 20 months. This represents only a small part of tlie whole scheme, which at a cost of £17,500,000 aims at re-hc-using 30,000 families within t»1 years. Ju cuniivc lion with the present undertaking (he svstem of construction adopted in Varis is being introduced, concrete blocks made ou the site being used throughout.
