JERSEY CATTLE

At Friday’s meeting of the Wanganui Jersey Cattle Breeders’ Association, the chairman, Mr C. J. Masters, expressed satisfaction at the attendance, which was Considerably better than that of the Taranaki annual meeting held a few days ago. Mr. Masters, who was re-elected unanimously, added that the association had made considerable progress in the Wanganui district. The president also mentioned that the Jersey prizes at the coming Wanganui Show will constitute a record. In the past, Wanganui had not been considered a leading dairying district. Following the remarks of the president, the meeting decided that the time had come when Wanganui should be represented on the New Zealand Jersey Council. Mr T. R. Wright was nominated on behalf of the district for the next election of the council. Tributes were paid to Mr Wright’s long experience with Jersey cattle.
