SOLD AT AUCTION
AN AUCKLAND WAREHOUSE. | Per Press Association. 1 AUCKLAND, July 19. Within a few minutes the warehouse of I’. Hayman and Coy., Customs Street East, was sold at public auction to the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Coy., Ltd., the price being’£Boso. The opening bid was for £6500, the price rising quickly by an amount of £250, ami I hen by amounts of £lOO to £BOOO, A rise of £5O closed the transaction. The general opinion was that an ex. cel lent property had been obtained for a favourable price. The warehouse, which has road access at the back, is only 60 yards from Queen Street, and the buildings, which is of brick, comprises four storeys and a basement. The property, which has a frontage of 99ft. to Customs .Street Fast, is held nil h-ase from the Auckland Harbour Board tor a term expiring in 1948 at an annual rental of £370, with half compensation for the building at the end of tho lease. A new lease can be obtained it’ desired.
