BROOK CRASHES
LONDON-TO-CAPE FLIGHT Received July 19. 11.55 p.m. ALEXANDRIA, July 19. The Harrogate airman, H. L. Brook, who holds the record for a solo flight from Australia to England,, started from Lympne at 12.35 a.m. yesterday in an attempt to reach the Cape of Good Hope in four days. To-day, however, he crashed at Mersamatrum, his machine being completely wrecked. Brook was not injured. Lack of petrol compelled the aviator to land at Mersamatrum, but he failed io locate the aerodrome in the darkness and landed a quart or of a mile, away.
