Mr. Robert Owen Ellis, clerk of the Taranaki County Council, died suddenly at New Plymouth on Wednesday morning at the age of 63 years. Mr, Ellis went to his work at the usual time in the morning, but he was not in his room when other members of the stull arrived. He had died of heart failure in another part of the building. Mr. l-llis had been in the council’s employ lor 30 years an dhe had become almost I a traditional figure in the office. An unusually competent worker, he waa courteous and obliging.
