THE TAIHAPE SALE. The New Zealand Farmers’ Co op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report a yarding of 1500 sheep and 250 cattle at the above fixture held on Wednesday. There was a large attendance and an exceptionally good sale resulted. Air. Rayner’s ewes came forward in excel lent condition and attracted keen corn petition. The 2-tooth ewes realised 35(id and the 4 and 5 year 30s Id to 30s fid; wether hoggets were also in demand and sold frely at 15s 10d to 17s. In the dairy section we affored a very fine herd on account of Mr. W. Coogan, Mataroa, the top price being £7 2s fid, the whole herd averaging £4 12s. Wc also had a very nice line of fat and for ward Hereford bullocks on account Mr. W. Beuck, Pukeokahu, which realised £fi 19s. The general tone of the market for both sheep and cattle was firm and prices certainly showed an appreciable advance on recent sale. We quote principal prices as follows: —Two-tooth owes, good, 35s 6d; 4 and 5-year ditto, 30s Id to 30s 3d; ewe hoggets, 21s to 21s Id, to 22s 7d; medium ditto, to Ifis sd; good wether hoggets, 15s lid to 17s; medium ditto, 13s Id; small, <Ss sd; fat. lambs, 21s; lighter sorts, 16s 8d; 2-tooth wethers, 20s 4d; fat ewes, 16s to 16s fid; f. and f. bullocks, £5 18s to £6 19s; fat cows, £3 10s; forward ditto, £2 17s; yearling steers, £2 16s; m.s. yearlings, £2 2s; fat cows, ex dairy, £2 17s fid to £3 ss; forward ditto, 25s to 30s; store cows, 15s to 20s; best dairv cows, close to profit, £6 to £/ 2s 6d; ditto, £4 30s to £5 15s; late, cal vers, £3 to £4; cows without b.f. records, 30s to £2 15s; Jersey heifers, £2 12s fid to £3 10s. RAETIHI SALE The Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report a yarding c-f about 700 sheep and 70 cattle at Raetihi. Some good store wethers were yarded. The ewes and lambs were of more or less indifferent quality. An excellent demand was in evidence and prices were good. Good store wethers made trom 19s 2d to 20s; wether lambs, small, 9s to Us Id; good to 15s fid; fat lambs, 17s fid; P.m. ewes, 17s to 20s; ewe lambs, small, Us 9d to 13s (id. Cattle, yarded were in low condition, but a total clearance was effected at auction. Four and five-year coloured steers, to £3 18s; 2 4-year P.A. steers, £4 2s; 20-months ditto, £3 3s; Hereford 2-jear steers, £4 3s; coloured Z-year steers, 37s fid to £2 2s fid.
