GENERAL NEWS. Mrs. J. E. Walker contracted ap pcndicitis during the week, and on Sai urduy night was hurried to Wanganui nospiial, where au operation was immediately performed. Her many friends hope to hear of some improvement at an eariy date. A.ii X-ray examination of Air. (J. E. Bailey was made at Wanganui llospi lai on Saturday, but a report will not be available until to-day. Latest re ports are'that he is comioitable and as well as can be expected. On Thursday night the Parewanui School dance and euchre party will be held in Bulls Town Hall. Mus.c will be supplied by Godson’s Acts, and by three car-loads of men bers of the I’al merston North Mouth organ Band. A number oi novelties will be a feature, and the function promises to be a great attraction. Sheeting on the open range on Saturday in fairly good weather, members of the Rangitikei Defence Rille Club registered the following scores at 300 and 500 yards:—H. Aleads, 48—49—97; J. B. Robins, 46—49—95; P. Thorby, 48 - 47—95; A. Stevenson, 41 —45—86; G. V. Jackson, 48—41—79. On Wednesday afternoons Bulls Bas kctball Club will play Glen Oroua, at Glen Oroua, cars leaving Bulls at 1.30 p.m. The Bulls team will be as fol lows: —Goalies, Al. Kearney. J. Button, and P. Wicks; centres, Al. Harvey, R. Haycock and H. Bromley; defenders, Al. Logan, C. Howard and V. AlcCabe. Emergency, E. Wightman. A practice will be held to-morrow afternoon at 3 p.m.
