The weather that day, however, was far too clear for successful duck shooting. I The local stables of the well-known ! mentor. A. E. Neale, are experiencing a ] lean time just at present, but Neale has i a nice team to prepare in view of the j spring meetings. Diatomous was to have raced at the Otaki meeting al ; Levin last week-end, and was actually : taken down to the course the day be i fore the meeting. Arrangements were jso poor, however, that there was no I stabling accommodation and Neale had |no option but to return to Bulls with I his charge. Diatomous may race at ' Foxton on Saturday, in which case he 1 will not be neglected by his local admirers. Parewanui School Dance. The Bulls Town Hall was crowded to capacity la«s-t night when the Parewanui Social Committee staged its dance and euchre party in aid of the school funds. The popularity of these dances is winning renown throughout the countryside and no fewer than two packed bus loads came through from Marton to the function. Last night’s dance exceeded the high standard pre viou.'ly attained and sets a furter high mark for future dance committees to aim at. For the non-danccrs there were cards, this section of the evening’s entertainment being in charge of Air. O. Reid.
