THREE MEN ARRESTED
FORMOSA POLICE ACTION. LONG CRUISE INTERRUPTED. SHANGHAI, May 2. Advice lias been received here that the Formosan police arrested two Americans and one German, named Gates, Wredc, and Roubin respectively, on a charge of violating the Shipping Act, and also entering a fortified zone without authority The trio left Shanghai recently in a small sailing boat for a long cruise,, touching at the Philippines and New Guinea and possibly Australia, eventually proceeding to Cocos Island, seeking to salvage the alleged gold cargo said to be sunk there The Fonnosau authorities, however, claim that the Americans are really naval officers and were caught photographing a foriilied zone.
