ENTRIES CLOSE TO-MORROW. Entries for the Alay festival of th* Wanganui Lorn petitions Society clo>e tomorrow and it is hoped that the rr sponse will indicate that the talent of the city, in all its branches, is behind the promoters. Competitions have a definite valm in that they encourage young talent 1 f » reveal itself. Wanganui still has happ recollections of the first, festival prn moted and of the discoveries that feui vai made of the talent, which, before hand, had never been heard of. Tf the committee now in existence can be a sured of the support of singers, elocutionists, musicians and dancers in the full measure the city is capable of producing, the forthcoming festival will be a success, and competitors and public both will be well rewarded for its patronage of the desirtble objo, r the society has’ in view.
