INFANTILE PARALYSIS
REPORTED OUTBREAK. QUESTION IN THE HOUSE (Per Press Association. J. WELLINGTON, March 19. When the House met at 2.30 Mr. W. J. Jordan (Labour, Manukiu) asked the Minister of Health if he had seen a report that an infantile paralysis epidemic had broken out in certain parts of Australia and if precautions were being taken to prevent the epidemic reaching New Zealand. Sir Alexander Young, in reply, said he had not been notified of any epidemic in Australia and the usual precautions were being taken to prevent any infectious disease reaching New Zealand. He also said that arrangements were made for the treatment of infantile paralyisis by the most modern methods at New Zealand hospitals.
