MAKIRIKIRI SPORTS
NEXT SATURDAY’S EVENTS. Everybody should make a point of attending the Makirikiri sports next Saturday. There is a varied programme of attractions and, if the weather is fine, there will be a record attendance. Makirikiri is within easy motoring distance of Wanganui, by a level road, and the ability of the experienced sports committee to cater for public enjoyment is well known. There are 34 events on the programme, including horse jumping, athletic eventj for young and old, novelties and wood chopping. This latter sport is of great spectacular nterest, particularly to townspeople. A band is being arranged for and everything will be done to make the day even more successful than that of last year, which lingers still in the happy memories of all who were there.
