JOHN COULL'S WEDNESDAY I SALES John Coull will sell at his sale rooms. Maria Place, to-day (Wednesday), at 9 a.m., peaches, pears, nectarines, tomatoes, and all seasonal fruit; at 1 p.m., meat, poultry, all vegetables, seasonal fruit, etc., and at 2.30 p.m., chesterfield, hospital beds, mattresses, ping pong tables, dining and kitchen tables, and n good line of household furnishings and sundries. • MR PETER MALCOLM'S SALE TO-DAY Messrs Sharpe, North and Co. will conduct a sale in their rooms to-day (Wednesday) at 1 o’clock, when they will sell a useful line of furniture and effects on account of Mr Peter Malcolm who is leaving Wanganui. Everything is for absolute sale. Full list will be found in our auction columns. Fruit, produce, and poultry will be sold at 1 o’clock. SUMMER TIME The prolonged spell of hot weather experienced throughout the district is having at least one effect similar to one experienced in England during last summer, that is, creating a desire on the part ot the populace for sea bathing. The Railway Department is catering handsomely for the gratification of this desire by arranging a number ot attractive excursions to seaside resorts. Included in this programme is an excursion to the popular seaside town of Opunake on Sunday next, when the Taranaki life-saving championship events will form an additional attraction. An enthusiastic committee at Opunake is sparing no effort to make tho visit thoroughly enjoyable. Perusal of our advertising columns in this issue will repay.

TO RESIDENTS OF WAVERLEY AND DISTRICT AUCTION SALE OF FURNITURE AND EFFECTS, FRIDAY. Messrs Sharpe, North and Co. draw the attention of residents of Waverley and district to a sale of furniture and effects to be held on Friday, February 8, at the residence. Bear Street. Waverley, under instructions from tho trustees in estate late Mrs L. S. Lamont, they will sell the whole of the furniture and effects. Goods will be on view from 9 n.m Friday, and the sale starts at 1.30 pin.
