FROZEN MEAT
LONDON MARKET. The Bank of Australasia has re ccived the following cable dated February I from its London office: —New Zealand lambs; High prices have checked demand, but. with supplies increasing somewhat weaker values anticipated and this should stimulate trade. New Zealand mutton: Demand limited owing to high prices; trade slow; wethers at lower prices are being accepted. Kwcs prices unchanged. New Zealand beef; Stocks on hand and forward shipments light; market firm with upward tendency and expected to remain so until supplies increased. LONDON FRUIT MARKETS The Department, of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated February 2, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Apples: Demand continues. Large stocks available keep prices moderate. British Columbian Jonathans, 9s 3d to 10s 3d; Newtown Pippin. Us 6d to 13s 6d; Oregon Newton, 12s 9d to 14s 6d; Californian Newtown, 12s to 12s 6d. Pears: American pears selling well. VFin'ter Nelis. 15s to 15s 6d.
