The proposal to produce a film deal ing with the reign of King George foi exhibition during the silver jubilee celebrations in May has been reluct an'tly abandoned. Mr. Winstoi Churchill undertook to write a scenaric dealing with political, social, constitu tional, moral and scientific changes and the unification of the Empire dur ing The reign, and it was hoped that the film would be an authoritative re cord for the use of future generations The producers, however, decided tha the cost would’be £lOO,OOO, and i' would be impossible to produce ant rent such an elaborate picture in time for the jubilee celebrations. A rival firm, however, has induce! Sir Austen Chamberlain and Mr. Johr Orinkwatcr, dramatist, to collaborate in compiling a picture entitled “Twenty-five Years a King.’’
