WANGANUI CENTRE SATURDAY’S RESULTS. Though no club competitions were played on Saturday by the Wanganui Centre clubs, a number of friendly games were played in ideal weather conditions. WANGANUI CLUB Owing to various counter attractions there was only a moderate attendance of players on the green on Saturday. The following is the result of the games played:— Liggins, Buchan, P. On Wednesday the following rinks will assemble on the green at 12.45 p.m. to proceed by ’bus to Marton: — Addenbrooke, Collingwood, Hally, Foster. Morrison, Kilgour, Jones, Meuli. WANGANUI EAST CLUB The mid-week rinks competition at the Wanganui East Bowling Club was continued on Thursday evening, three matches being played. Detailed results are:—

Frankish, Ellis, Bowling, Colman IS, v. Tippins, Reynolds, Cowan, Gillespie 14. Dann, Tate, Gaunt, Dixon 14, v. Burns, Alp, Willis, Caldwell 13. Raine, Rush, Penn, Beckett 24, v. McDougall, Graham, Ghent, Norris 11. Play on Saturday. Owing to counter-attractions there was a moderate attendance of players on Saturday afternoon. Before commencing play the president in a short speech congratulated Mr. W. Baxter on. his fine performance in the open singles tournament, in going right through to win the final without a loss. The score card of the final game was a most interesting one, which the speaker handed to. the winner as a souvenir. Other representatives of the club —Messrs. Fletcher, Stewart and Hutchins —had also done very well in the tournament. Cheers were then given for Mr. Baxter and the other players. Friendly pairs games were played, with the following results: — Norris and Purnell 17, v. Colman and Baxter 17. Bamford and Fletcher 23, v. Dixon and McCracken 18. Ross and Gaunt 24, v. Barford and Bowling 17. Dann and McDougall 17, v, Ellis and Martin 15. Tate and Car veil 25, v. Reynolds and Wight 15. Penn and Burns 22, v. Ingleman and . Raine 17.
