In the front row, from left, arc the Mayoress, Mrs Hislop, Sir Alexander Godley, the Mayor, and Lady Godley, Amongst those at the back are Major-General Sir William Sinclair- Burgess, G.O.C. hew Zealand Defence Forces (standing between Sir Alexander and the Mayor), and in the same row, to the right, the Hon. William Perry, M.L.C.
