POLICE RAID
ILLICIT .STILL ALLEGED. [Per Press Association I ( HRIHI'CHURCH. Nov. 5. A raid on premi e- occupied by John Pcniberthv Bashford iu L ,v T.e Rond, Hornby, was carried out by police of fleers and a customs officer this morning. It is alleged that the raiding party found there a still and a quantity of whisky, which were taken away by the police. Bashford will appear in the court to-morrow charged with having an illicit still. CAPTURE IN SOUTHLAND. ( Per Press Association ). INVERCARGILL, Nov. 5. A large still in full working order, with nearly 200 gallons of wash and a quantity of complete spirit, was seized in the Awarua district this afternoon by the Collector of Customs and a party of police. It is understood that further developments are ponding.
