THIEVES AT WORK
WAIPUKURAU INCIDENTS. [ Per Press Association 1 WAIPUKURAU, Sept. 17. Thieves early this morning broke into Yates’ Cash Stores through a skylight, stealing practically all of the. t ’bacco in stock. They also entered Mr. W. Boyer's billiard saloon by a rear window, but nothing is missing. From a petrol pump outside Mr. Wells’ garage 25 gallons were stolen after removing the lock. It is understood thi* the nightwatchman has suspicions incidental to this episode, and advised the police at Takapau. The constable there stopped a southward car and two men ran away.
