He was born and educated in ‘ Dunedin and has taken part in piping | ' competitions in New Zealand since he I was aged 10. He won the New Zealand piobaireachtl championship in Dunedin | “ in June, 1933. He left in January last j ’ to attend classes in baking at a eol- i II lege in Aberdeen. He intends to ob--6 tain further experience in Canada and e return to New Zealand next year. | e While in Scotland he competed with, o success against the world’s best pipers l ' at the Ellon Games. He was second in | strathspeys and reels and won the r marches.
