While fossicking in the hills on the v Waikato Land Settlement Society’s property at Whatawhata, ten miles e west of Hamilton, three amateur proses pectors discovered a reef showing in a l- preliminary assay small quantities of j- gold and silver. The discovery was made under unusual circumstances, in that the location of the reef was revealed to one <-* of the prospectors by his late father in a dream. When it was found its - characteristics corresponded with those of the dream reef.
