WEATHER FORECAST
Meterological Office, Wellington, Tuesday, Sept. 4, 4 p.m. General Situation. —Pressure is still rather high to the south-east. A rather deep cyclone is centred north-west of Cape Maria Van Diemen. Forecast. —Winds: North-east to north reaching gale force in parts of the North Island, moderate in the far south, elsewhere moderate to strong. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough to heavy north of East Cape, moderate south of Banks Peninsula, elsewhere rather rough and rising. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong east to north-east winds and rather rough to rough seas. Weather: Cloudy to overcast in places, misty or foggy rain over the North Island, becoming fairly general within the next 24 hours. Some heavy falls in the Auckland province, with thunder in places. Temperatures mild. Phases of the moon for September:Last quarter, September 2; new moon, September 10; first quarter, September 17; full moon, September 24.
