Pulleine Spencer, I. and Mrs. Dorothy Ashton, opened toI day at the New Zealand Women’s Asr sociation’s headquarters. The majority e of the subjects are New Zealand. . Critics declare that Mrs. Spencer’s f work is fresh and happy, and her best t results are achieved in pictures of luxuf riantly tangled native New Zealand >• bush, marked by depth and richness of 3 colour. Mrs. Ashton’s contributions cl comprise pleasing beach scenes. e Mr. Will Ashton, who opened the ex e hibition, said the work of each painter 0 was frank and honest, and full of light and colour. I
