ALLEGED ASSAULT

At the Magistrate’s Court a charge I of assaulting Seth Snoswell so as to I cause actual bodilv harm was preferred against Edith Firth, aged 58, a domes- ■ tic. who was remanded to September • 11 in bail of £5O and one surety of : £5O. . Displayed in Court was a garden ' fork, which the police alleged was the ■ weapon used by accused. Complainjant was now in hospital for treatment. I His nose had been broken in the af- ! f ray. Counsel said that he understood that 'the charge might be reduced. The police said that further inquiries would be made.
