YOUNG AIRMEN KILLED
TREASURE HUNT TRAGEDY. Received Sept. 3, 7.10 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 3. John James, who was a cousin of Lord Northbournc, and Norman Ramsay, sou of Robert Ramsay, the cricketer and aviator, well known in Australia, were killed in an air crash at Adisham during a treasure hunt organised by the Kent Flying Club. While the youths were circling at a height of 200 feet, trying to identify the number of a car taking part in the hunt, the machine stalled, fell in a spin, and crashed. The first aerial treasure hunt was organised by Siccle O’Briend in 1931. She was a daughter of Sir Timothy O’Brien, the well-known cricketer. Miss O’Brien had already lost a leg in a flying accident, and later in the year was killed in a ’plane crash.
