In a peep proof garden surrounded by a 20-foot fence, the first conference of tlie National Sun and Air Society was held at Finchley, members ranging from elderly men to girls aged four. Included in the gathering are Nonconformist clergymen, solicitors, doctors, and other professional men. One is a’Japanese. Women are in the minority The chairman, Mr. Hugh Shayler,'in an address, said: “We are not freaks. We advocate equality of the sexes parties and races. Free access to the ‘sun and air confers enormous benefits physically and mentally. Later, nude men and women wandered in the garden, and in the house took tea. They entered organised games and physical exercises.
