LARGE INCREASE IN BUTTER The total imports of butter into Great Britain last month were 47,508 tons, compared with 30,577 tons in July, 1933, an increase of 10,931 tons. Empire countries supplied 22,365 tons, an increase of 9000 tons, mostly from Australia and New Zealand, and 1 foreign countries supplied 25,143 tons, an increase of 1931 tons, mostly from Holland. Re-exports of butter from Britain ' last month were only 151 tons (com- , pared with 303 tons in July, 1933), five ’ tons going to Europe and 146 to “other British countries." During the seven months ended July 31, Great Britain’s total imports of . butter were 315,674 tons, compared with 265,861 tons for the correspond- , ing period of last year, an increase of 49,813 tons. Empire supplies totalled J 177,265 tons, an increase of 30,858 tons, j and foreign supplies were 138,409 tons, an increase of 18,955 tons. j The sources of Britain’s imports for the seven months are shown in the j following table:—

Of the 'total imports of cheese into Britain during the last seven months. New Zealand supplied 74,385 tons, or 82.75 per cent.
