MARKET CLOSES STEADIER Though, the quotations are 2s per cwt. lower than last week the market tor New Zealand butter in London was steadier at the close of business for last week, according to the cable received on Saturday by the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board. Wholesale quotations are: New Zealand, salted, | 79s to 81s and up to 82s per cwt.) (which equals approximately bid per lb. f.0.b.); unsulced, 86s to 90s; Australian, 75s to 765; Danish, spot, 105 s to 106 s. The retail prices are unchanged. The cheese market is steady, with New Zealand cheese still selling retail at 7d per lb. Wholesale rates are: — New Zealand, coloured, 46s to 46s 6d j per cwt.; white, 49s to 49s 6d; Conadian, white, 60s; new season’s, 48s to 525; coloured, 54s to 56s (new season's, 48s to 51s); finest English farmers’, IUUs to 101 s, and up to 106 s. The board has also received the following advice from its agents in Canada: —Butter, New York, 28 cents.; Montreal, 18i cents.
