READING MATTER FOR CAMPS

Sir, —Some six months ago I made an appeal for reading matter for the 14mile camp and the appeal received a most generous response from the public in the form of books and magazines. These have now all been read and passed on to other camps for general use. These long winter evenings there is very little other relaxation beyond reading, and I have been requested to see what could be done to replenish supplies. Without good reading matter the nights arc very long, lonely and monotonous, and 1 am confident that those who have books and magazines they do not need will gladly donate them to the boys in camp. The 35-mile camp will soon be re-opened and will be in urgent need of reading matter. Donations sent to me will be packed and forwarded free of cost. Parcels will be gladly received and may be left at the Men’s Shelter.—l am, etc. H. LAWRENCE, Manager. Men’s Shelter, Wicksteed Place.
