GENERAL NEWS Members of the Rangitikei Ladies’ Golf Club will play the L.G.U. medal rounds to-day, the draw being the same as that published last week, when rain caused a postponement. Mr. P. Jeffries has resumed duty at the local post office after spending a month’s holiday in the Nelson district. Mr. Geoff. Whisker, who was at one time attached to the staff of Bulls post office, has recently been transferred to Tikitiki, near l-.ast ( ape. On Saturdav Sanson Rugby juniors met and defeated Ohakea, at Ohakea, by 22 to 3 Bulls thirds went under to Hunterville. the scores being 12 to and Flock House were defeated by Athletic by 13 to 3. Playing at Carnar' on on Saturday. Ohakea ladies’ hockey team went down to Carnarvon by 4 goals to nil. Good progress has been made with the installation of Stenin heating apparatus in the Town Hall. The boiler house at the rear has been completed and the pipes in the hall were placed in position yesterday. Owing to shipping troubles the radiators have not come to hand, but are expected this week and will not take long to place in position. The cold has been intense in the hall recently, and picture patrons ami others will appreciate the iiiising of the temperature in the auditorium. The duck shooting season closed on Saturdav ami several sportsmen braved the elements on the concluding dav but with poor results. Howevei, the’season was a very fair one, taken right through.
