SPIRIT OF DA VINCI
WOMAN’S REMARKABLE GIFT. PAINTING OF CHRIST. The spirit, of Leonardo da Vanci, the famous Italian master, is said to have inspired a remarkable painting of Christ by Airs. Ida AL Dixon, of Croydon. London. Mrs. Dixon, who is 71 years of age, has suffered from cataract of both eyes for many years, and has never had any training in art. In her picture, which experts have declared has a definite likeness to the work of Da Vinci, the Saviour has been given hair and beard of a soft auburn colour, b’ .< eyes, ami a halo of pale rainbow hues. His robe is white, with a cloak of blue and pink over it, and t>he whole work is distinguished by a strange luminosty. Airs. Dixon is a cheery little woman with sparkling eyes. “Of course, 1 could not do that sort of work without guidance,” she says. “I have never had any art training, and the only painting I have ever dour, apart from work under spirilt guidance, has been of flowers. I have no knowledge of anatomy or figure work, but several well-known spirits controls have been portrayed on canvas through my mediumship.” Airs. Dixon’s painting of the spirit control. Zodiac, is famous in spiritualist circles throughout the world. “J never know when I am going to b< compelled to start painting,” Mrs. IDixon says. “Frequently the urge comes on when 1 am doing house worn, am’ J have to stop and start on a canvas right away. There is not sketching. 1 paint straight away.”
