VALUELESS CHEQUES
ISSUER PLEADS GUILTY. ( Per Press Association ). HAMILTON, June 29. Having voluntarily returned from Australia, mainly to clear up the charges, {Stuart Raymond McArthur, aged 28, pleaded guilty to five counts of obtaining £5l 10s by means of valueless cheques and a charge of stealing £42 10s at the Hamilton Court to-day. The evidence showed that accused obtained board and lodging and money with the cheques. Money was stolen from the room of a mate at Te Kuiti, all of the offences having taken place early in 1930. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
