DISGRUNTLED MOSLEMS
THREAT OF TROUBLE. PROCESSION EIRE© UPON, CALCUTTA, June 14. Grave trouble is threatened in the State of Kapurthala as the result of Moslem agitation aaginst the Government jn connection with the recent firing by troops on Moslem religious procession. Defying an order banning meetings, processions and demonstrations in Kapurthala City, Moslems met nt a mosque at which inflammatory speeches were made urging a boycott of Hindus and Sikhs. Moslem peasants threaten that, unless the Government accepts the report of the committee of inquiry into a. firing incident in which Hindu military police and oflicals were censured, the Moslems will start a campaign of civil disobedience and refuse to pay taxes. State troops have been moved to certain areas to prevent clashes between Moslems and Hindus. The Hindu organisations have sent message to the Maharajah of Kapurthala, who is at present in Europe, warning him that the peace of the State is jeopardised.
