JERSEY BREEDERS
THE WANGANUI CLUB. SHOW SCHEDULE REVISED. The Wanganui Jersey Cattle Club met last night, Mr. C. J. Masters presiding. A coinunication was received from the National Winter Sales Executive suggesting that th-e club link up witi Hastings, Dannevirke, Woodville, Wai rarapa, and Horowhenua, by sending two delegates to meerings. After discussion it was decided to join as suggested. Mr. C. C. Baldwin, chief cattle steward of the Wanganui Agricultural Association, was in attendance to assist in the matter nf finalising the Jersey schedule for the forthcoming show. This matter was gone into very fully and the following recommendations were made to th? Wanganui Show Executive: (1) That a class for bull and. calves and one for heifer calves be added to the local section.
(2) That classes 46 and 47 in la-st year’s schedule e deleted. (The classes referred are: Two Jersey heifers in milk calved since July 1. .1931, and two Jersey heifers calvce since July 1, 1932) (3) That a class be added for a cow, any ag&, and two daughters; both daughters may be in milk, but it must be a condition that one is in milk and the other not younger than a senior calf. If there are not *jree entries there is to be no competition and owners who do enter must be advised within reasonable time before the show if the competi,rion is abandoned through lack of support. The three animals comprising an entry need not necessarily belong to the one owner. <4) That a champion dairy cow class be introduced, to be open to all breeds.
