AT THE DUCHESS

“MYSTERY OF THE WAX MUSEUM.” To be shown finally at the Duchess Theatre to-night, “The Mystery of the Wax Museum,” as its title implies is a thriller iu which a mad gemus uses his wax museum of models to cloak a hideous crime. Filmed in technicolour, this provides excellent entertainment. “My ’Weakness,” with Lilian Harvey and Lew Ayres as stars, comes to the Duchess Theatre on Wednesday next. Most successful of present day Broadway musical show proouceis, with a dozen smash hits to nis credit including the recent “Take a Chance,” De Sylva, the producer, is in a fair way to become the “Ziefcld of Hollywood.” He is credited with knowing more about the popular musical type of entertainment than any other poison now active in theatrical circles. Weeks, Susan Fleming, Mary Howard, daughter of Will Rogers, and a group of Hollywood’s most beautiful girls. “Fra Diavolo” is announced as the new picture beginning at the Duchess Theatre on Friday and Saturday next, and is the new Laurel and Hardy-Hal Roach feature picture which is based on Auber’s comic opera, “Fra Diavolo.” Dennis King, Thelma Todd and James Finlayson have featured roles in the new film which w«3 personally directed by Hal Roach and will be released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Kay Francis gets the role opposite i Leslie Howard in “British Agent.”

Mae West’s Maid. Libby Taylor, the dusky actress who would rather be Mae West's personal inaid than to continue as a Broadway stage success, will be accorded her second major rc-Ie in Mae West’s next starring Paramount picture, ’'lt’s No Sin.” The maid appeared in “I’m No Angel.”
