REGIMENTAL BALL

WELLINGTON AND WEST COAST HAPPY TIME AT E'LRICK Great success attended the dance of the officers of the Wellington-West Coast Regiment held in the Elrick last evening. The lounge was appropriately decorated with festoons of red, white and blue streamers, and the regimental flags and colours, while on a large table was displayed the silver cups and trophies. Over the entrance door the regimental badge was conspicuous. The frocking was very pretty and allied with the colourful dress uniforms of the men, made an attractive scene against the dark panelling of the charming room with its ever•changing lights. Lieut.-Col. W. S. McCrorie and Mrs McCrorie received the guests, other members of the committee being Major D. A. Lilburne, Capt. D. T. Maxwell, Capt. H. E. Edmondson, Lieut. Burford, Lieut. S. Hanton, and Lieut. E. E. Wales (hon. secretary). Mrs McCrorie was wearing a frock of black chiffon velvet with long sleeves of lace, and a coatee of bla*ck and ivorv velvet. Dance music was played by the River City Syncopators’ Orchestra. Among those present were:—Lieut.Col. N.
