Air. W. Griffiths and Miss N. Griffiths, of New Plymouth, was the guest of Mr. C. R. Honeylield, “Park Farm/’ for the week-end. Aliss P. Gray, of Waverley, visited. Patea during the week-end and was the guest of Mrs. R. AV. Haddow. Mr. Fordham, of Wellington, was a visitor to Patea last week. Mr. 11. Elverton, of Levin, is visiting his sister, Airs. 1. Jones. FOOTBALL. For the third Saturday the Patea seniors will journey away for their senior Rugby competition match, this Saturday travelling to Stratford to play United Old Boys. Scott as pirsidrnt of the I’utea Seaside Improvement (Society, was present sy request to discuss the holding of the races for the school children’s swimming championhip cups. Air. Scott explained the position, anil discussion ensued with the result that a resolution was carried unanimous!v leaving the arrangements for the championship in the hands of the association in conjunction with the Surf Club. Mr. S''Ott was thanked for his attendance. Arrangements were made for the football and basketball tournament to be held on August 1. and It was decided that entries close on July 28 with the secretary. Mr. Wither.

At. the weekly competition on Tuesday held by the ladies, Aliss Rugby Hanis was the winner in the sealed handicap bogey match, being all square with bogey, while Aliss .Roberts was second. 3 down.
