MASS FLIGHTS TO ALASKA
U.S. NAVY AND ARMY ’PLANES. Received June 27, 11.5 p.m. WASHINGTON, June 26. Navy as well as Army aviation departments will engage in the mass flights to Alaska in the summer months. Following the Army announcement, Mr. Swanson (Secretary to the Navy) announced to-day that 12 Navy evaft would leave San Diogo on July 17 and fly 7000 odd miles to Dutch Harbour, Alaska, and return by easy stages, in order to test the defensive possibilities.
