INSTITUTE DANCE
KABIOI-NGAMATEA. The plain and fancy masked dance, which was organised by the Karioi ail’d Ngamatea Women’s Institute members, and held in the Karioi Hall on Saturday, June 23, was one of the most successful dances ever held there, there being over 250 people present. The hall was very gaily decorated with grc. ry and black, orange, and mauve streamers, these being the two institutes colours. Excellent music was supplied by the Alidnight Revellers, and the duties of M.C. were very ably carried out by Air. A. Alalpas. There were numerous novelty dances, the winners being:—Alonte Carlo No. 1, Airs. Hussey and Air. AlcAlillen; No. 2, Airs. F. Alowat and Air. 11. Campbell; spot waltz, Aliss Harrison and Mr. Oram; hat waltz, Air. Libline and Airs. Carter, The winners of the fancy dress were: Ladies, Airs. Alalpas, ft Victorian Lady”; gent’s, Air. Powell, “Blue Beard.” Another very handsome prize was won by Airs. Ferry. A verj sumptuous supper was served by the members. During the evening, Airs. Ferry, presi dent of the Ngamatea Institute, in r neat little speech, thanked all who hac helped to make the evening such a wonderful success. Among those present were:—Ales dames E.
