Meteorological Office, Wellington, Monday, June 25, 4 p.m. General Situation.—Au anti-cyclone of moderate intensity now covers New Zealand. A cyclonic depression is developing off the coast of New South Wales: Forecast.—Winds: Light to moderate variable, but northerlies gradually predominating and, later, freshening. Seas (New Zealand waters): Smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman: Moderate but freshening north-cast to northerly winds; smooth to moderate but rising seas. Weatherff Fine in most districts, with cold night but milder day temperatures. A few scattered showers likely, however, in the extreme south. The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John’s Hill, report for 24 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday: Bright sunshine, 3 hours 20 minutes. Rainfall, a trace. .Shade temperature: Maximum, 54 deg. Fahr.; minimum, 36 deg. Fahr. Phases of the Moon for June: Last quarter, June 6; new moon, June 13; first quarter, Juno 21; new moon. June 28.
