S.O.S. MOTORS’ SERVICE LICENSE GRANTED COMPANY RAILWAYS TO SEEK TRANSKER The New Zealand Railways Board has bought the business of Alessrs. S.O.S. Alotors, Ltd., and will apply to take over the license granted the company by the Central Licensing Authority (Mr. J. A. C. Allum;, at the Alagistrate’s Court at Wanganui yesterday morning. Application for the transfer to the Railways Board from the company is to be made at Wellington. The announcement that the board will take over the business of the 8.0.8. Alotors was heard with some surprise. At New Plymouth on Thursday application for the license for the S.O.S. Alotors’ run between Wellington and Wanganui was made by the 8.0.5., together v- ith Jenkii - ’ Mot )i Service (Masterton), and Newman’s, Ltd. (Nelson). The Authority reserved its decision until yesterday morning, when Air. Allum stated that the application of the S.O.S. would be granted and those of Alessrs. Jenkins kins and Newman, Ltd., declined. It was thereupon stated that the board would apply for a transfer, having bought out the company. The application made by Alartin and Vernon’s, Ltd., for the renewal of the license for their services between Wanganui and Palmerston North and Wanganui and Alarton was granted. Hodson’s Alotor Services, Ltd., wore also granted the renewal of their license for the Wanganui-New Plymouth run. It is understood that in the event of a license being granted the Railways Board for the Wellington-Wan-ganui run, th e hoard will take over the S.O.S. service within a month and that no alteration in timetables and fares will be made.
